Sunny is licensed for in-home and out-of-home respite. Respite provides short-term care and supervision when a primary caregiver is absent or needs planned relief.
Planning respite
Timing, setting, routines, health and safety needs, supervision requirements and the authorized amount of service should all be clarified before respite begins.
What good respite looks like
- The person’s routines and preferences carry over, so the day still feels familiar.
- Staff know the supports, communication style and any safety considerations in advance.
- The caregiver gets real relief rather than remaining on call.
Respite is not an emergency drop-off service. Availability and authorization must be confirmed in advance.
